Already Gone

Ok, I know it's been a while since I've written or posted anything on here. I was inspired by a good friend to get back on and start writing about music. Yesterday the new Bayside album artwork and track listing were released, along with a song on their upcoming Feb. 22 2011 release named Killing Time. Already Gone is the first track released, and they are set to release another track on iTunes entitled: Sick, Sick, Sick on November 11th. Already Gone is the first track to kick off the upcoming album. The song starts off with a catchy guitar riff then Anthony bursts into song with "You, you never call..." his voice is full of emotion and power like in previous albums. This song sounds a lot like Tortures of the Damned mixed with the punk sound found in Shudder. The familiar lead guitar parts that give the band their sound are ever so present. The lyrics are completely Bayside through and through. I'm excited to hear more, and I can't wait! For any long time fan of the band, or even the newer fans, I'm sure this album will satisfy all of your listening pleasures as Already Gone has satisfied mine. Then I put him back but he’s singing a little in there. I haven’t quite let him die. And we sleep together like that, with our secret pact ,and it’s nice enough to make a man weep…but I don’t weep. Do you?

$155 for tacos

Meeting up with old friends is always a fun time. I had the opportunity last night to meet up with my old buddy, Tyler Cook. We decided to go get some tacos, since that's what we usually did when we lived in Mexico City. We went to a local Mexican restaurant in Provo to indulge ourselves. We both ordered the unlimited Al Pastor taco deal for $10. Both Tyler and I set the new record at the restaurant with 20 tacos each. Super good time just hanging out and speaking Spanish and eating some good food. Afterwards we went to Tyler's place where he told me not to drive over because I could get a ticket. We hung out at his place for a bit; when he took me back to my Jeep, it wasn't there anymore. Apparently there was a sign at the entrance stating that there was to be no over night parking. I called the number to find out how where my car was and to see what it's going to cost me to get it back. I was told it was going to be $145, no compromises, or breaks. I tried not to get upset about it, but how could you not! I just went home to sleep on it and calm down. This morning my roommate Jason and I went to bail my beloved Jeep out of car jail, costing me an arm and a leg. Needless to say that was a pretty expensive learning experience. The lesson to be learned here is that if you are ever in Provo/Orem and you need a place to park; don't park anywhere that says UNIVERSTIY PARKING! Those guys are relentless and will make no deal with you. I understand that they are a company with good intentions, and they do help out with a lot of parking problems at apartment complexes. I'm not bad mouthing them at all, i'm just waring you to watch where you park so you don't have to pay out your first born to get your car back like I and many other have had to do!

The Opposite Side Of The Sea

This weekend I've been in touch with my calmer side. I've been listening to Oren Lavie, and his amazing album "The Opposite Side Of The Sea". If you're into folk music and a little more mature sounding music, get off your ass and listen to this album! The first track "Her Morning Elegance" really kicks off the album. It has a very soft and relaxing feel, almost like it's 10 in the morning, and you have nothing to do but enjoy the morning. The song has a great feel and talks about the story of a young lady living her everyday life. My favorite track on the whole album would have to me "Trouble Don't Rhyme". The sound of rain falling during the songs really sets the scene for the song, and the feel. I feel as if Oren is trying to portray a message about how things fall into place. That not everything goes as planned, but sometimes they do. Honestly I wish I had better insight on the true meaning of the album but I need to listen to it more. Go get this album and listen to it, you won't be let down.

Act Your Wage?

Today at a stop light I saw something that really stood out to me. I saw a sticker on a truck window that said, "Act Your Wage?". The truck was an older one, and the driver appeared to be about 27. I thought about what that meant to me, and how funny but true that short statement was. If we as Americans would obey that simple line (me included) how much better off would we be? It seems that we are always trying to "keep up with the Jones'". Especially where I live in Utah Valley I notice it a lot. I see kids all of the time that are my age driving brand new trucks, or luxury cars. It baffles me and dumbfounds me how they can afford them. I'm sure most of their parents are the culprits for there lavishing cars, which is astonishing. Let the kid make it on his own, let them deal with REAL life for a change, something good might just happen. Whether you make $1000 a year or $1,000,000 a year, act your wage.

Welcome November

This is going to be a good month. First of all Thanksgiving is coming up soon. Also Less Than Jake is going to be back in town with two of my favorite bands; The Casualties and The Swellers. Throw at me what you may November but nothing is going to get me down.

Wow, if that wasn't condescending!

I get so annoyed when people say mindless stupid things that are irrelevant and just plain ignorant. Let me expound a little bit to you all about my encounter. I went into work today and went to the restroom. Upon exiting the restroom I crossed paths with a fellow co-worker. When this fellow co-worker out of no where pronounces "you dress like a little kid". Granted that my dress was a little colorful today, but honestly i'm 22. This co-worker just showed me their true character, condescending, judgmental, and straight up rude. Not to talk myself up, but at least I said hello! After our short encounter I (like a gentleman) opened the door for this co-worker. When they replied, "I was going to get that for myself", thus proving even more how rude and shallow this person really is. My question is why must people do things like this? Why must people say snarky comments before thinking? People please be RESPECTFUL of everybody, especially fellow co-workers! If it isn't your place to say anything, don't!
